Ref. BILL BEERS family thank you card.- I received this today from Bill’s family.- Dear 17th Artillery regiment Association,
We cannot thank you all enough, for all the love and support you all gave our Dad. Your warmth and kindness, cards, calls, and prayers were greatly appreciated more than you will ever know.
The 17th is a very special group of people. The stories dad would share with us from all the reunions and how much each one of you meant to him. There wasn’t a week that went by that he would receive calls from at least three or more members. He would get a smile on his face when he would hear from each of you. We also wanted to say thank-you for the beautiful flowers. I dried them and I am going to hang them on my parent’s home.
Thank you all so much.
Thank you,
Albert, Curtis, & Michelle and our families P.S. As dad would say, “Pray for Snow.”
We'll never forget you "Conway."
Richard A. Smith-chaplain
To all I hope that each and every one of you and your families have a very BLESSED Thanksgiving! Count your blessings, not what you DON"T have.
God Bless-Richard-Chaplain

Ref. -WEBSTER COLE- Please Keep Webster in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery and proper healing for his cataract surgery he had today. Remember cards, calls, emails, and prayers go a long way!
Ref. HARRY FETSICK- I spoke with Harry and his wife both today. We had a short conversation, but Harry is home now, and is taken by ambulance once or twice weekly to check on his knee. They still haven't set a date yet for his other surgery on his knee. They are going to have either a ramp built, or a small lift installed so he can be easily taken out of the house. He sends his regards to all. We closed with a prayer. Remember cards, calls, emails, and prayers go a long way.
I was stationed at Merrel Barracks back in 1980 thru 1982 with the 2nd ACR ! Looking at pictures brings back memories!
Ref.-HARRY FETSICK- I spoke with Harry this morning. He pretty much said everything that his wife said in the previous post but added a few comments.
His disability rating has gone up as of yesterday. A social worker came in and said they were working on getting him a hospital bed for his home along with the wheelchair and walker.
He is to see an infectious disease specialist tomorrow. He also told me the bone is visible in his knee and is waiting to see what the specialist says. He appreciates phone calls from members. His room phone is still the same. (412) 826-6270 (He has physical therapy each morning.) We closed with a prayer and has asked that we keep him in our prayers also. Remember cards, calls, emails, and prayer go a long way!
Ref. -Harry Fetsick- I just spoke with Harry's wife tonight. Harry is still in the same location with the same phone# (412) 826-6270. She said it's best to call him in the morning around 0800 or around lunch time because he usually is in physical therapy during the morning hours.
He is still having a hard time with his knee healing, and he is being taken this Thursday to a specialist away from the VA. He has a "pick line" in his arm to have antibiotics administered similar to a port.
His family members have been taking him out for outings for about four hours on the weekend of which he seems to enjoy. Rosie feels and hopes that he might be coming home soon being they have issued him a wheelchair and walker today. Please continue to keep Harry and his family in your prayers. " Just received a call from Harry. Sounded in good spirits ready for more therapy at another facility. Doctors tell him they expect he will be there 4 to 6 weeks then he should be able to go home to continue healing. Then they will need to do the surgery again. He thanked Dan Reeves for passing on a lot of info and wanted to hear from the members. I also thanked his wife as well for keeping us updated due to phone service.
