Ref.- HARRY DUDEK- December 13, 2023
On Sunday, December 10, 2023, Gil Bernabe received an email from Brian Dudek ,son of Hank Dudek, informing Gil that Hank had a heart attack on December 1, 2023.
Gil talked to Hank today and got the whole story from Hank. On December 1 around 4:00 am – Hank woke up with a horrible chest pain. Hank says that it felt like an elephant was sitting on his chest. Patty ,his wife, quickly called 911. The ambulance arrived in quick order and drove Hank to his local hospital. Luckily, at 4:00 am there is no traffic in the Nanuet, New York area. He got to the hospital in five minutes.
During initial testing and treatment for his heart attack, Hank had three strokes. After spending one week in the hospital, on December 8, he was taken to Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Center for treatment to get him back on his feet. Hank says that he gets six – 30 minutes of physical therapy every day to get his arms and legs functioning better. Hank has made good progress and he will be heading home on Saturday, December 16.
His hospital phone number is: (845) 786 – 6248. His home address is on the roster. NO public addresses put on Guestbook due to it’s a public site. Remember, Cards, calls, emails, and prayers go a long way!
REF-Peggy& Mike Dage's daughter Angie- This week Peggy Dages' daughter and family had their home burned to the ground.
No one was home when the fire started. Gil and I both talked to Peggy on Wednesday and asked if the members of the 17th Artillery Association could help in some way.
Peggy said that their insurance company is assisting Angie and her family. The community responded quickly and provided a lot of clothing. Gil told Peggy if it gets to the point where Angie and her family need some help to let the 17th Artillery know. Peggy did say to keep those prayers coming.
I want to take a moment to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING especially our active, retired , and former veterans and their families. Give thanks for what you DO have . God Bless you all.

At 10 AM Nov 17, 2023 we laid to rest my mother, Lucille Winton aged 102 years. She lived independently until her last week on earth, finally succuming to a sudden pneumonia. The service was presided over by our cousin, Army Chaplain Mark Winton. The weather was calm and sunny and the service a perfect comnination of joy and seriousness. Relatives attended whom we had not seen in many years making the occasion extra special. We will miss her, but she led a very special life and pulled us along with her at every step. She was laid to rest with my father at the Florence, SC National Cemetery.
