I am extremely sorry for the loss of your wife and the circumstances. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers. I am out of state right now but will be back next week. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I or the association can do anything for you during this hard time. TO THE ASSOCIATTION- Please remember cards, calls, prayers, and emails go a long way during times like these!
With a sad and heavy heart I share that my wife Brenda passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from ALS with our daughter by her side. It was especially difficult for me as our daughter had the hospital keep me from spending the final precious hours with my wife of 46 years. The two of them were so close to each other they became one that refused me the opportunity to say goodbye.
I share this only to remind you people handle death in different ways, please talk with your family to establish communications early about end of life, don't assume you understand each others wishes.
UPDATE. HOPEFULLY HAD MY LAST SURGERY ON MONDAY, THEY REMOVED THE TWO STENTS THAT THEY PUT IN MY BOWLS TO HELP GET RID OF THE POISON FROM MY GALLBLADDER WHEN IT LEAKED AFTER IT GOT NICKED ALONG WITH MY STOMACH AND LIVER, STILL FEELS LIKE MY LEGS ARE ON SPRINGS , BUT GETTING STRONGER EACH DAY. STILL HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT OUR REUNION, CUMA HAS TROUBLE DOING A TWO DRIVE WHICH IS WHAT IT TAKES FROM OUR HOME TO THE HOSPITAL, AND ITS OVER TWENTY HOURS FROM HERE TO FORT SILL, CUMA IS IN BETTER SHAPE THAT I AM AT THE MOMENT, SHE STILL HAS PAIN ALONG WITH HER FOOT AND LEG SWELLING, SHE KEEPS GETTING GOOD REPORTS FROM HER CANCER DOCTOR, SO WE JUST TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME, SHE LOVES THE PHONE CALLS FROM RICHARD AND CATHY , SO FEEL FREE TO GIVE HER A CALL, ,YOUR FELLOW REDLEG, ROUNDS OUT, ROUNDS OUT
Ref: Mike Dages; I spoke with Mike today about 30 minutes. His spirits are high and he will have his last chemo treatment on Mar. 19th. They will do another CT scan to see if the chemo has helped or not. Despite he says he's lost 50 lbs. and feels bad from the chemo his energy level is high about meeting us in Ft. Sill! Please continue to keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Remember cards, calls, thoughts, prayers, and emails, go a long way in hard times!
