In my haste in writing yesterday's email I put the incorrect phone number for Minnie (Jim's wife) the number is 830.709.3708. Again I thank you for this email. CommentsWith great sadness today, I received word today that ISG (RET) JAMES A MOORE passed away on 19 October 2003 at his home, in Lytle, Texas. His wife address is: Minnie Moore, 1555 South View Drive, Lytle, TX 78052. James served in both Alfa and Delta Batteries, 2d Battalion, 17th Artillery, Vietnam from 1965-1967.
CommentsTo all in attendance at the reunion just held at Lawton, Ok. What an enjoyable event it was to get to see some of my old friends that I served with in 1968-1969 while I served in the Persuader Battalion. I guess that some of you didn't like me then but you never showed it at the reunion. Again for holding it back. I am sorry to have missed all the previous ones except the first one. I hope all enjoyed the food and beverages that I provided. I also hope that it saved the organization a little monies, that they can spend on other worth while things that are planned. Although no one has thanked me personally I do believe it was enjoyed by all in attendance I hope to be around next year for the one in D.C. Please call on me at any time. Thomas 'TOP' Vernor

CommentsMy comment for the 03 reunion. "I stood among Giants". As they say in Louisiana "We fought a good fight (Vietnam/Korea)", now they call us "Patriots". "It was time to pass a good time".

CommentsI'm currently in Colorado, taking a slow journey back home to Sacramento. This years Reunion was the best yet. They keep getting bigger and better. I would like to thank Norm (Richard) Jones for all the hard work he has done to get the Association started and keeping it going. Don't forget that we have a Scholarship fund set up and need all the contributions that we can get. Let's make the 2004 Reunion the best yet. See you in Washington D. C. next year. Rich Siebe, Treasurer, 17th Artillery Regiment Association
CommentsI made it back from Ft Sill. Sorry I left early. I want to say that I had the best time of my life. Seeing Top Verner again, knowing he was alright was the highlight of the whole trip. The staff did a very good job of planning the whole weekend. I was very pleased to talk to each one of you again. I left Viet Nam sad and guilty that I left my brothers. Especially the ones from C-Battery we lost on April 3rd 68.May God bless each one of you and your families.

CommentsI'd like to take a moment to say Thanks to everyone for the wonderful time at the Reunion, not to mention the unexpected surprises. Every year the turn out keeps getting bigger and better. I'd also like to say thanks to Richard Jones for all the hard work and dedication he's put into getting our Association started. If it wasn't for him there would be no 17th Artillery Regiment Assoc. It's always tuff saying goodbye at the end of every Reunion but now I just start planning for the next one. See ya all next year and thank you all for the memories.---------Mike Burke------C Btry 2/17th, RVN
